Relax and Rest.
Recharge and Reconnect.
Resonate at a Renewed Frequency.

What Is Vibroacoustic Therapy (VAT)?

VAT is an innovative healing modality that influences the body by introducing pure low-frequency wave vibrations ranging from 20 to 200 Hz. It has been developed for over 40 years by various individuals and companies around the world.

Our VAT SoundBed options create a multi-sensory experience of feeling and hearing unlike anything else. Designed by musicians and sound engineers, every track synchronizes bed vibrations with beautiful music and frequencies played through headphones. With adjustable volume, you can fine-tune the level of body vibration and headphone sound that is right for you.

Each session is an opportunity to reconnect with yourself, discover your unique rhythm, and effortlessly unlock a deeper sense of wellbeing.

Orientation to the SoundBed Experience

It is important to me that you have the best experience possible.

To facilitate this, I conduct a formal intake to understand your intentions for trying VAT, your medical history and current health, and overall wellness goals. This helps to decide which SoundBed to start you on, as well as which initial track to explore. You will be oriented to SoundBed safety and empowered to decide on your unique SoundBed journey through future sessions. I provide you with a call button to notify me if you need assistance while you are in your session.

During your initial SoundBed experience, you will:
1) Listen to a 9-minute guided track that familiarizes you with the SoundBed.
2) Experience your first 30-minute track.
3) Have 5 minutes to rest quietly.
4) Be gently notified that your session is over with 1 minute of live flute, didgeridoo, or chimes (your choice).

All together, your first session is approximately 60 minutes. For consecutive sessions, you will be free to book for 30, 45, 60, or 75 minutes.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you combine hands-on bodywork with VAT?

Yes – only after you have completed a SoundBed orientation session and received at least one CranioSacral and/or massage session separately from VAT.

A combined session is only available at the 90-minute session length. I have found that 10-30 minutes of VAT followed by bodywork for the remaining duration is best. Due to booking purposes, pricing for combined sessions is at my regular 90-minute bodywork rate.

How often do you recommend coming in?

As often as you’d like. I benefit from sessions multiple times a week without any adverse effects. Weekly, biweekly, or monthly sessions are all great additions to overall health maintenance. For more intensive focus on particular issues, increased frequency may yield more noticeable results.

What are VAT Contraindications

Although VAT is safe for most individuals, we do not offer service to people with the following conditions:

Pregnancy, breastfeeding, blood clots, panic attacks, recent surgery, recent broken bone, recent brain injury, recent seizures, vertigo, epilepsy, shunts or stents of any kind, venous clips, pacemakers, kidney stones, auditory sensitivity, vestibular issues, extreme sensitivity or fragility, schizophrenia or other severe mental illness, or an inflammatory process in the acute phase.

Are there risks to VAT?

Risks include lightheadedness, drowsiness, tingling, mild fatigue, slight discomfort, heightened emotional responses, and exacerbation of undiscovered injury or health condition(s). I always recommend adjusting vibration levels and session length to the amount that feels right for your body.

Benefits backed by emerging clinical research…

What Research Studies Show

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved vibroacoustic therapy for increasing circulation, pain relief, and increasing mobility. Vibroacoustic therapy is being evaluated to treat a number of conditions including fibromyalgia, cerebral palsy, and Alzheimer’s disease. “Vibroacoustic technology is an effective treatment for relaxation, anxiety reduction, muscle-tension reduction, pain management, and addressing stress-mediated symptoms (Boyd-Brewer, 2003).”

VAT acts through distinct hemodynamic (blood flow), neurological, and musculoskeletal pathways to modulate bodily function. Research demonstrates that external sound oscillations promote blood and lymphatic microcirculation while calming the autonomic system (Bartel, 2021). ECG results show that VAT universally increases parasympathetic activity, and EEG results indicate increased concentration, reduced arousal, and increased relaxation (Fooks, 2024). In specialized hospital rehabilitation units, VAT is administered as an adjunct modality for pain, spasticity, and affective disorders (Hynynen, 2017).
